MOGGARO BUILDS THE FIRST BOAT ENTIRELY IN TITANIUM FOR TITANUM TECHNOLOGY.

After several months of collaboration with the Spanish company Titanium Technology, Moggaro has built the first boat entirely out of titanium, overcoming all the technical difficulties that until now made titanium a practically unviable material for shipbuilding.

Its high mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance, which make it virtually immune to corrosion in the marine environment, make titanium an ideal material for shipbuilding. However, technical difficulties during the welding process hampered its use and the possibility of manufacturing boats from this material. Thanks to this project, it has been possible to define the appropriate manufacturing processes to build boats with a practically eternal and maintenance-free material, thanks to Titanium Technology’s Antifouling Technology, which prevents biological growth on submerged surfaces without having to periodically apply antifouling paint.

This construction marks a milestone in shipbuilding and in Moggaro‘s history, positioning it as the first civilian shipyard to build a ship entirely out of titanium. We want to share our satisfaction with the result and emphasize our commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability once again.

This project will allow us to open a new product line in which we are already pioneers, and we trust that in the medium term it will set a trend in other sectors that value the excellent properties offered by titanium.

This manufacturing has been carried out in collaboration with Titanium Technology within the project : BLUEBOATS: RESEARCH INTO A NEW PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF COMPONENTS WITH ANTI-FOULING PROPERTIES FOR THE NAVAL INDUSTRY, which has been financed through aid for integration and transformation actions of the industrial value chain of the naval sector, within the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation for the modernization and diversification of the Spanish naval ecosystem (PERTE NAVAL), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union and managed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism..
